Mindfulness Meditation

So many times in life we find ourselves multitasking. We have so many responsibilities – school, work, family, bills, expectations – it seems there are never enough hours in the day to accomplish everything.

So many times in life we find ourselves multitasking. We have so many responsibilities – school, work, family, bills, expectations – it seems there are never enough hours in the day to accomplish everything. Many times our stress level just grows, and it can impact every aspect of our lives. Learning to live mindfully may seem impossible. Yet it is a very simple concept if we would only try it.

Start by turning off electronics that might be distracting. Sit in a comfortable position in whatever way works for you. Take a deep breath in, through your nose, and exhale through your mouth. Whatever thoughts might enter your mind, allow them to flow out without trying to hold onto them. Almost like the tide, they come in and they go out. We don’t pay attention to them, we just notice their presence. Focus on your breath.

Try this, starting with 3-4 minutes, and working up to 30-45 minutes. Welcome to Mindfulness Meditation, it can lower your blood pressure and heart rate, and help change your mood. It bestows benefits on those who practice daily.
